"In the late 50s (Golden Age of Guitars) Gibson (and others) used potentiometers by US maker Centralab ™.” The audio taper of these “Holy Grail” of potentiometers have since become synonymous with the perfect taper. It's pretty steep on top (great to "switch" from lead to rhythm) and musically to the end. No wonder people pay $150 to $600 or more for a single vintage potentiometer. After 40 Years Centralab™ has agreed to put these back into producton. This is a Harness for the Very Serious Guitar Player who is a Tone Chaser. All Materials assembled as 50s Wiring 50s Volume. NOS Made by Sprague Roederstein /Germany, these are axial-leaded polyester film caps. The tone is similar to a Mullard Mustard. JEL personally located and imported these. These Caps are excellent in a Guitar that has a wood resonance (Les Paul or an ES-175 or ES-335 as an example). They are transparent in tone. If your Guitar has a “woody” resonant primary tone, this cap will bring it all to the surface. They were featured in Dirk Wacker’s Capacitor Reviews in the March 11, 2010 Issue of Premier Guitar.
